How do I access the LOYAL extension?

  1. Open the Google Doc with the piece you are working on and click the LOYAL icon to open the extension.
  2. The extension will appear on the right-hand side of your document, loaded with results and ready to use.
  3. Click the same icon to close the LOYAL extension.

How do I research using a brief?

  1. Begin by copy & pasting your article brief into a working Google document, then click on the LOYAL logo at the top of your Chrome browser to activate the tool.

  2. Quickly scroll through key articles relating to your brief down the side of your document. Click and view each article to scan for useful information.

  3. Copy and paste helpful information into your working document to build out your piece and insert hyperlinks to highly relevant articles by clicking the three dots at the top right of an article preview and selecting “Copy Link Address”.

  4. With all your research in one place, you can now begin to build out your article. Return to LOYAL’s search function to support you throughout the writing process too.

How do I research using keywords?

  1. First, open a new Google document.
  2. Add 5-10 keywords relating to your article topic to the document.

  3. Click on the LOYAL logo at the top of your Chrome browser to activate the tool.

  4. Scroll through LOYAL’s list of related articles and expand each article preview to read the full piece.
  5. Copy & paste useful links into your document to return to. Click the three dots in the top right corner of each article preview panel and select ‘Copy Link Address’.

  6. You are now ready to start writing your article! Don’t forget, you can use LOYAL to assist you along the way.

How do I research using a headline?

  1. Open a new Google document.
  2. Type your working article headline into the document using subject keywords.

  3. Click the LOYAL logo at the top of your document to search for articles that relate to your headline.

  4. Scroll through related articles to scan for relevant information to build out your article.
  5. Click on article previews to read in more depth, open in a new tab, or copy and paste link addresses into your working document.

How do I disable a source?

  1. Click the three dots on the top right corner of the source you want to disable and select ‘Disable source’.
  2. View and manage disabled sources under the Disabled Sources header at the bottom of the page.
  3. To re-add a disabled source, click the three dots on the top right corner of the source and select ‘Enable source’.
